__NOTOC__

The Raymore Peculiar School District has four main wireless networks: RPConnect, RPStaff, RPGuest, and Walkthru. Other networks may be broadcast for special occasions in various locations.

RPStudent
The RPStudent network is used only for devices that are provided by the RayPec school district that are for use by students. Most devices that fall under this category are Chromebooks. The password for this network will either be pushed to the device automatically through a management system, or entered manually by someone in the technology department.

Walkthru
The Walkthru network is for RayPec district owned devices issued to staff members. This category consists of mostly MacBooks, but may include select other types of devices as well. Similar to the RPConnect network, the password will be pushed by a management system, or entered by someone in the technology department.

RPStaff
The RPStaff network is reserved for staff members who bring a personal device. Steps to connect your personal device to RPStaff will differ depending on your device. See Connecting to RPStaff for further details and device specific instructions.

RPGuest
RPGuest is for guests of the Raymore Peculiar School District. There is no password required to connect to the network initially. However, all Internet access will be blocked until you register a guest account. For more information on connecting a guest to the RPGuest network, see Connecting to RPGuest.
The RPGuest wireless network is provided for guests of the RayPec School District in an official capacity, who for the purpose of their visit, require access to the Internet. This network does require a password to connect initially. The password will change periodically and should be known by a network sponsor or anyone in Technology. Once connected to the network, Internet access will be blocked until the user registers for a guest account, or inputs credentials received via email from a previous registration within a 24 hour period.

Registering for an account on RPGuest
Once connected to RPGuest after selecting it from the list of available networks on your device and putting in the password, you will be presented with a splash page in one of two ways. For some devices, a separate screen will popup asking you to sign in to the RPGuest network. Other devices may require you to open a web browser and browse to any website.
*If you haven't registered for a guest account in the last 24 hours, you will need to click Register on the RPGuest login page. If you have already registered, and have an email with a username and password, you may enter it here to login. (Figure 1). You may also check out the Acceptable User Policy on this page.
*On the RPGuest Register page, enter your email address (you will receive an email with user credentials at this address) in the Username field. The sponsor email field must be the email address of an approved sponsor at RayPec School District. You must also accept the terms and conditions before you will be allowed to continue (Figure 2).
For this reason the Raymore Peculiar School District uses iBoss web filtering.

HTTPS and iBoss
HTTPS is the protocol on which most websites operate today. When a website uses HTTPS, the connection from your device all the way to the website is encrypted. If anyone in between intercepts your traffic, they will be unable to decipher what is inside.

This causes some issues with web content filters. As an example, Google uses HTTPS on all of it's websites now. When you do a Google search, only you and Google know what your search query was. Our iBoss server would not be able to filter on searched keywords in this case. To fix this, we use a man-in-the-middle approach to decrypt your traffic to Google to see the searched keyword. For this to work, iBoss has it's own certificate that is presented when going to websites that we actively decrypt. For all of this to work seamlessly, your device must have the iBoss certificate installed.

For advanced users, the iBoss certificate download can be found here. If you need help installing the certificate, please go to ibosscert.raypec.org. This page will detect the device you are using and present you with instructions specific to you on how to install the certificate. If you need any help, please don't hesitate to contact the help desk.

Once the iBoss certificate is installed, be aware that this allows the RayPec School District to decrypt SSL traffic on our network. This could potentially result in confidential data being accessible by our district.

Jason.Smither: Created page with "Staff members and High School students are able to print to the Canon copiers from a Chromebook using the following instructions. If you do not see CanonSecurePrintChrome'..."

Staff members and High School students are able to print to the Canon copiers from a Chromebook using the following instructions. If you do not see CanonSecurePrintChrome as an option on your Chromebook, please email the [mailto:help.desk@raypec.org help desk].

Print from the Chromebook
Initiate your print
Start by clicking the three dots in the upper right corner of your page and selecting Print. Alternatively, you can select the print icon at the top of the page if you are using a Google Workspace product.

Select the destination
If you have not yet printed from a Chromebook, you might see Save as PDF selected for the Destination.
*Select the dropdown list and select See more...
*In the Select a destination dialog box, select CanonSecurePrintChrome.
After printing for the first time, Chrome should remember your selection and you should not have to make this selection again.

Select the paper size
Again, if you have not yet printed from a Chromebook, your print job may be submitted with the A4 paper size. We do not stock A4 paper and your print will fail to release at the copier.
*Select the More settings dropdown to show more options
*Check the Paper size and select the dropdown if A4 is selected
*Select Letter to print to 8 1/2 x 11 sized paper
*If all other settings are correct, click Print in the lower right corner of the dialog box
After printing for the first time, Chrome should remember your selection and you should not have to make this selection again.

Release your print job from a Canon copier
Login to the copier
Staff members will be able to login to the copiers with either Firstname.Lastname and password or using their key card. Students will have to use Firstname.Lastname followed by their 3 numbers and password.
NOTE: Do not include @raypec.org at the end of your username.

Select the print function
Once you have logged in, you will need to navigate to the print release page.
*Select Secure Print Scan from the first screen
*Next, select Print to show your print jobs

Release your print job
Next you should see a list of any print jobs you have sent to the Canon copiers. To release the job from the queue:
*Select the print job you would like to print
*Click Print + Delete to release the job

Notes
If you do not see your print jobs or the job does not release once you select Print + Delete, please contact the [mailto:help.desk@raypec.org help desk].

If you know what you are doing, you can download the iBoss certificate here. If you need help installing the certificate, please go to ibosscert.raypec.k12.mo.us. This page will detect the device you are on and present you with instructions specific to you on how to install the certificate. If you need any help, please don't hesitate to contact the help desk.

Once the iBoss certificate is installed, be aware that this allows the RayPec School District to decrypt SSL traffic on our network. This could potentially result in confidential data being accessible by our district.
__NOTOC__

The Raymore Peculiar School District has four main wireless networks: RPConnect, RPStaff, RPGuest, and Walkthru. Other networks may be broadcast for special occasions in various locations.

RPConnect
The RPConnect network is used only for devices that are provided by the RayPec school district that are for use by students.

This network is an open network, meaning it requires no password to connect. This also means that there is no encryption between the client and the wireless access point. Once connected to the network, Internet access will be blocked until the user registers for a guest account, or inputs credentials received via email from a previous registration within a 24 hour period.

Registering for an account on RPGuest
Once connected to RPGuest after selecting it from the list of available networks on your device, you will be presented with a splash page in one of two ways.
*The next screen will show that you are waiting for approval (Figure 3). It is important that you wait for your sponsor to let you once you are approved before clicking Continue.
*After you are approved, click Continue and you will be taken to the "Request approved" page indicating that your guest account has been created (Figure4).
*Click Continue and you should automatically be logged in to the network. You will be redirected to the iBoss Certificate instruction and download page in the case you need to install the web content filter certificate.
Sponsoring a guest
In order to sponsor a guest for the RPGuest network, you must be an approved sponsor. There are at least two sponsors in each building. If you are unsure of who the sponsors are for your building, contact your front office.
*After a guest has initiated the guest registration process, and if you are the approved sponsor used on the registration page, you will receive an email asking for your approval to create the guest account (Figure 5).
*To approve the account, click on the "approve access for..." link in the email. This will take you to the "Request for access" page where you can click Approve to create the guest account (Figure 6).
**If you wish not to approve the user, simply ignore and delete the email.
*Once you have approved the guest, let them know they can continue to login to the network.

The RPGuest wireless network is provided for guests of the RayPec School District in an official capacity, who for the purpose of their visit, require access to the Internet.

The RPStaff network is reserved for staff members who bring a personal device. Steps to connect your personal device to RPStaff will differ depending on your device. In all cases, you will use your Active Directory credentials to connect. This is the same username and password used to login to a computer within the district. RPStaff uses 802.1x and RADIUS for authentication. It is not necessary to understand how these protocols work in order to connect to RPStaff. However, it may be helpful to know how RPStaff authenticates users when searching for information for your specific device.

Connecting to RPStaff with specific devices
Windows 10
To connect your Windows 10 laptop to the RPStaff wireless network, choose "RPStaff" from the list of available networks.
*You will be asked to enter your username and password.
**Enter your Active Directory credentials (username and password used to login on a school computer) and click OK.
*If you have never connected to RPStaff, or have removed it from your list of known networks, you will be asked to if you want to continue to connect. This has to do with the certificate on our RADIUS server. Click Connect to continue.

MacOS
To connect an Apple laptop (MacBook Pro or MacBook Air) to the RPStaff wireless network, select RPStaff from the available wireless networks.
*The first dialog box will ask for your Username and Password.
**Leave the 'Mode' selection on Automatic.
**Enter your Active Directory credentials (username and password used to login on a school computer) and click Join.
*The next dialog will ask you to verify the certificate. Click Continue.
*If this is your first time connecting to RPStaff with this device, you will then be asked to enter credentials to make changes to your Certificate Trust Settings. These credentials will be the same username and password you use to login to the MacBook (Not your Active Directory credentials).

iOS
Connecting your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to the RPStaff network is fairly simple. Once you select the RPStaff network from the list of available networks, you will be presented with a login screen asking for a Username and Password.
*Enter your Active Directory credentials (username and password used to login on a school computer).
*The next screen will present you with the rp-airwatch.raypec.org certificate. In the upper right corner, touch Trust.

Android
To connect an Android device to RPStaff, you will use your Active Directory credentials (username and password used to login on a school computer). But you'll also need some extra information. Once you select RPStaff from the list of available networks, you will be presented with a network configuration dialog.
*The 'EAP method' is PEAP.
*The 'Phase 2 authentication' is MSCHAPV2.
*For 'CA Certificate' choose Do not validate.
*Your 'Identity' is your username (firstname.lastname).
*Leave 'Anonymous identity' blank.
*Under 'Password' enter your AD password and touch Connect.

Note
*Depending on the Internet sites you plan to visit, you may need to download and install the iBoss Certificate on your device.
*iOS devices (iPhone) have a feature called 'Wi-Fi Calling' that uses an IPSEC VPN tunnel which gets flagged by our iBoss web content filter as a high-risk device. The result is that your device will be temporarily blocked from reaching the Internet on our network. Your experience on RPStaff might seem slow or spotty. If you experience this, try turning off 'Wi-Fi Calling' on your iPhone.
**Go to Settings -> Cellular -> Wi-Fi Calling and switch off Wi-Fi Calling on This iPhone
*If you've recently changed your Active Directory password, you will likely have to forget the network from your device and reconnect.

The RPGuest wireless network is provided for guests of the RayPec School District in an official capacity, who for the purpose of their visit, require access to the Internet.

</gallery>

Windows 10
